Council tax paid before or during bailiff enforcement

Payment of council-tax arrears does not always remove statutory enforcement fees. Timing, stage and allocation matter.

Ask the council for its ledger and the company for instruction date, notice, stage and fees. Request a reconciled written balance.

A genuine fee balance may remain after principal is paid. Identify the precise disputed item; complaints and assessment do not automatically suspend enforcement.
